We are pleased to introduce the Scientific Planning Committee for our upcoming CME Conference: Dr. Rob Thomasse, Dr. Shaun Davis, and Dr. Servaas Swart. They bring a wealth of clinical expertise, leadership, and passion for continuing medical education. Get to know the committee members who are helping shape an engaging conference experience:

Dr. Rob Thomasse has proudly been practicing family medicine in Kamloops since February 2003, and is very excited to see the resurrection of the Sun Peaks conference. He considers himself a bit of a CME nerd and loves the constant learning of family medicine. Outside of medicine, he loves playing and coaching soccer, has played with the Canadian medical masters soccer team since 2022, and will be competing in his 5th World Medical Football Championship in Costa Rica in December.  He also loves both cross country and downhill skiing at Sun Peaks. 

Dr. Shaun Davis graduated from the Kamloops residency program in 2018 and has a passion for all aspects of family medicine. He’s worked with the Divisions for many years, with the not-so-secret goal of bringing the Sun Peaks CME Conference back to life. His hope is that this conference will help strengthen or re-establish those connections, provide an opportunity to learn together, and ultimately make our work a little better and more enjoyable. 

Dr. Servaas Swart is a long-serving Kamloops family physician with a passion for patient-centered care and community health. In addition to caring for patients, he has been an active contributor to physician leadership and collaborative healthcare initiatives throughout the Thompson Region.
