Kamloops Mental Health & Substance Use (MHSU) is seeking a Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join a collaborative, team-based primary care environment dedicated to delivering high-quality, comprehensive care to youth and adults in the Kamloops area who are connected to MHSU services. This clinic-based position at Kamloops Mental Health & Substance Use Services Centre focuses on longitudinal primary care and coordinated, culturally safe care tailored to the needs of this population.

In this role, the NP will serve as a Most Responsible Provider (MRP) for an attached patient panel, providing full-scope assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and ongoing management of health conditions. Responsibilities include panel management, proactive attachment, continuity of care, and participation in shared on-call services, where applicable. As an MRP, the NP will obtain and maintain privileging and credentialing with Interior Health.

The NP will be fully integrated into an interdisciplinary team that includes psychiatrists, family physicians, nurses, Indigenous health partners, and allied health professionals. Together, the team provides coordinated, person-centred care for individuals with a wide range of health needs, including chronic disease management, mental health and substance use support, care for medically complex conditions, and palliative care.

The Kamloops MHSU NP will work in close collaboration with a variety of MHSU programs and teams, including mental health and substance use counselling and care coordination services, to support attached clients. Care delivery may include in-clinic visits and targeted outreach to meet patient needs across settings, including community environments.

The clinic is committed to providing accessible, culturally safe, and trauma-informed primary care that supports wellness and continuity for clients throughout their care journey.

This position is ideal for an NP who values interdisciplinary collaboration, relationship-based practice, and the opportunity to provide full-scope primary care within a supportive MHSU setting.
